2022 Brings New Offerings north of Walt Disney World® Resort

Lakeside, Horizon West’s first established village, began to take shape back in 1997. Though initial construction started nearly 25 years ago, new businesses continue to arrive to this day.

In keeping with the master-planned design for Horizon West, this village provides residents with access to businesses, eateries, and services close-to-home by placing commercial properties in both a large village center and smaller neighborhood centers.

With many established businesses in some of these centers, it can be easy to miss new additions. Here’s a roundup of new businesses coming soon to the village of Lakeside!

Village Center

The village center is made up of Lakeside Village Center and the adjoining Westside Shoppes. Offering a wide variety of national restaurants and Florida-based eateries, this village has an energy that attracts people from all over the world.

The Publix-anchored village center has been serving nearby residents for years, but continues to grow, adding restaurants and services for the whole family. The following businesses are newly opened:

Lakeside Village Center (7880 Winter Garden Vineland Rd)

Westside Shoppes (6517 Old Brick Rd)

Neighborhood Centers

Lakeside has several neighborhood centers:

  • Lake Burden Shops - best known for Walgreens, on Rt 535 near Overstreet Road
  • Lakeside Neighborhood Shoppes - on Reams Road at Taborfield Avenue
  • Windermere Center - also on Reams Road between Simply Self Storage and 7-11, across from Disney Cast Member parking

Windermere Center (12900 Reams Road) is the newest in terms of commercial development. Here are the businesses planned for Windermere Center:

It’s exciting to see new offerings still coming to life in Lakeside while construction and development are speeding ahead in the newer Horizon West villages and the town center.
