COMMUNITY THEATER - AN EXCITING STEP IN HORIZON WEST HAVING “ALL THE THINGS”

Dec 14, 2018

Horizon West Community Theater is coming to life in Horizon West.

When talking about community theater, it’s important to look at why the word “community” is included. Community is defined as a feeling of fellowship with others as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests and goals. The theater holds countless opportunities to engage audiences both on and off stage. Sharing a passion for theater and a drive to bring that unique community home to Horizon West is what sparked the birth of Horizon West Theater Company. Businesses and community members excited about helping Horizon West cultivate that community can be involved now in various ways - just read on!

While still in its infancy, the dream that is coming to life has been waiting patiently in the wings for its chance to shine. HWTC President Ron Baumanis has had his heart set on cultivating a community theater and now that the time has arrived, he couldn’t be more excited to share that dream with the Horizon West community. Melissa Depot, who serves as Vice President of the board said, “Theater is a way for the community to come together, connect and share a common passion.”

With a schedule of productions on the books for the coming season, Horizon West Theater Company is dedicated to bringing the highest quality of performance. In a community built in the backyard of the world’s most recognizable stage, it’s easy to see why this dream has settled here. The most Magical Place on Earth is just a stone’s throw from our doorsteps. What better way to make that magic microlocal than with our own theater company?

GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES THRU CLASSES & WORKSHOPS
Theater supports the enrichment of cultural opportunities as well as provides a platform for knowledge and experiences that form a diverse social circle. It serves as a safe place to explore emotions, build confidence, increase self-awareness, meet new people and engage in new ideas. The theater offers not just the stage itself as a place to plug in, but countless roles behind the scenes. Benefits to the community are both financial and artistic. The HWTC will provide a wide variety of offerings. Traditional theater classes will be a staple, but taking it a step further, Horizon West Theater Company may include training on public speaking, team building, leadership enhancement which will all serve as unique opportunities for members of the community to "step onstage" and get connected.

CULTURE & TRADITIONS TAKING ROOT IN HORIZON WEST
The evolution of the Horizon West masterplanned community is palpable. With most of the previous growth having been focused on real estate, road development and school zoning, it is a breath of fresh air to see the cultural needs of the community coming to fruition. A strong community flourishes when it’s cultural side is nurtured and we at Horizon West Happenings are ecstatic to see this and more happening on our journey to “have all the things” that will make Horizon West a robust and amazing place to live, work and play. Projected at over 90,000 residents upon build out, establishing our own culture, traditions and offerings within the borders of Horizon West is an important journey in the village-centric masterplan coming to life.

HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT
While we all plug in in different ways, supporting the cultural growth is a common goal. If standing in the spotlight isn’t your thing, that’s ok! There is a place for you. The audience is just as important as the people onstage. For businesses vested in Horizon West flourishing, sponsoring the theater is just one of the ways you can be part of the storytelling process. With sponsorship opportunities in a wide range of levels, each offers a way for you to be written into the script. From recognition in the playbill to title sponsor opportunities, the role of sponsor is invaluable. Sponsors are who make it all possible! The special thing about sponsorship is that you become the catalyst for bringing it all to life while helping raise awareness for your brand in the Horizon West market.

While we eagerly anticipate the day that the curtains open, there is plenty to do in the meantime. The Company’s board will be fundraising ongoing with events such as Holiday Caroling on Saturday, December 15, 2018 from 10am - 12pm at the Lakeside Village Starbucks where a troupe of carolers performs holiday favorites. You can support them by going to HorizonWestTheaterCompany.com and becoming a sponsor with a donation towards their production goal. You can also purchase Horizon West Theater Company T-shirts and Totes from the website and start the storytelling with everyone you meet!

As fundraising continues and class schedules are built out, look for more exciting events from HWTC that will be popping up all over town! TO GET
