Orlando Health’s State of the Art ER and Medical Pavilion Opening in Horizon West

Horizon West Happenings • September 18, 2018

The West Orange Healthcare District has teamed up with Orlando Health to increase and improve
wellness options for the residents of Horizon West.

On Saturday, September 22, 2018, the Horizon West Happenings team was amongst the lucky community members that attended the Exclusive Community Preview of Orlando Health's newest healthcare facility. This fun and family friendly event featured a myriad of activities for local families to enjoy, as well as informative and interactive health screenings.

Starting at the entrance to the new facility, residents were warmly welcomed by staff with swag bags to fill with goodies as you made your way down a beautiful corridor lined with tables offering everything from fresh fruit to first aid kits. Children indulged in popcorn, Sno-Kones and cotton candy while taking turns getting their faces painted, posing with a stilt walker and selecting their favorite balloon animals. Residents were then given guided tours through Orlando Health's state of the art Emergency Room and Imaging and Laboratory Centers before they were lead outside to an interactive ambulance experience. The fun continued outside with bounce houses and Mix 105.1's amazing raffle table.

About Orlando Health's State of the Art Healthcare Facility:

Announced in 2016, this $100 million facility will operate as a standalone extension to Ocoee’s Health Central campus. West Orange Healthcare District’s generous contribution of $75 million to the project is an investment into the overall wellness of the community, focusing on nutrition, fitness, and preventive care.

Combining efforts with Orlando Health is a huge step toward creating more jobs as well. Forty nine new jobs are expected to come with the opening of Phase 1 of the new facility, with additional jobs being created upon completion of the project.

The new Orlando Health ER and Medical Pavilion is located at 17000 Porter Rd, Winter Garden, FL, near 429 and Avalon Road. Upon completion it will consist of two phases, each which will encompass distinct and significant improvements to healthcare services in Horizon West.
