Town Hall to Focus on State and County Updates for Horizon West Residents
Updates from Tallahassee by Representative Leonard Spencer and from Orange County by Commissioner Nicole Wilson

A new town hall hosted by Rep. Leonard Spencer’s office will offer a broader focus than past Horizon West town halls, which have typically centered on hyperlocal updates related to schools, roads, law enforcement, planning and other community-specific topics.
This upcoming discussion is designed to update residents on state and county issues, including the 2026 legislative session, the special session on congressional redistricting and the delayed state budget.
Commissioner Nicole Wilson is also expected to provide remarks on recent county initiatives, including smart growth, Vision 2050, green space in District 1, the impacts of SB 180 and more.
State-level topics planned for discussion include Florida Forever funding, SNAP funding, the state economy, improving outcomes for students and families, public transportation and other issues affecting everyday Floridians.
The event will include an audience Q&A following preselected questions submitted by registrants.
Rep. Spencer’s office shared that the meeting is expected to be recorded and posted afterward on Rep. Spencer’s YouTube channel for those who are unable to attend.
“All Horizon West residents — and neighbors beyond — are welcome to join us for a community-centered conversation on how our offices are working to address the needs of everyday Floridians,”
Riley Hazel from
Rep. Spencer’s office shared.
