After their move to Horizon West, the Pelcher family quickly plugged into the community through sports, school and events. As they got to know their neighbors and establish a new normal, they realized that Horizon West was missing something really special.
Back home in Rochester, Abbott’s Frozen Custard has served as a hub for families and community members to gather after events for a cool cup of creamy custard. This treasured tradition was something the Pelchers were passionate about bringing here to their new home. The Abbott’s story is one steeped in tradition from it’s very beginning in 1902 and has become a tenant in the Rochester community for generations. That long history was something the Pelchers wanted to carry with them and introduce to their new community.
Horizon West is all about creating what you want to be a part of, and that’s exactly what the Pelcher’s did! They worked tirelessly as a family to create a space through Abbott’s to welcome families and community members to gather and enjoy the sweet traditions of their hometown. If you’ve been to any event in Horizon West, you’ve probably met Jennifer, Steve and their kids at the Abbott’s tent. Their commitment to our community is nothing short of inspirational.
We are proud to recognize the Pelchers for their embodiment of traditions, new and old, right here in Horizon West and we encourage you to stop by Abbott’s Frozen Custard in Hamlin for a sweet scoop and be sure to say hi if you happen to see them out an about around town!
