Behind the Curtain of Horizon West Theater Company!

Jan 27, 2022

Volunteering- on and off stage- are what bring each performance to life!

Community Theater is about so much more than putting on plays and musicals. The magic behind the curtain is what builds community!

Melissa Kratish Depot is the President of Horizon West Theater Company with a mission to make the arts an option for everyone in our community. She shared why volunteering is the most important role to cast in their theater company.

"On either side of the curtain, Horizon West Theater Company is comprised of a myriad of individuals. Volunteers encompass a diverse makeup of age, culture, life experiences and backgrounds. The common denominator is a strong appreciation and dedication to performing arts. Horizon West's local nonprofit community theatre is run entirely by volunteers!"

Since it's inaugural year in 2018, Horizon West Theater Company has created three programs that offer productions throughout the year.

These programs exist not only because of the talent we have here in our community, but also due to the heroes behind the scenes. Interested in helping Horizon West's local theater scene grow? There is a role waiting just for you.

Here are some ways to become involved behind the curtain!

What was once just an idea has become a reality thanks to the collection of residents who used their collective talents, skills and time to bring it to life. To join a Horizon West Theater Company committee, or to become a general volunteer, be sure to visit them online!
