Summer is growing near and Horizon West Magazine wants to enable every child to find their perfect summer camp — with the added convenience for Mom and Dad of knowing that options are right here in our community of HW!
Our area is offers a treasure trove of camp opportunities designed to cater to a diverse array of interests and ages. From budding athletes to aspiring performers and young scientists, there's a camp tailored to ignite passion and foster skill development throughout the summer months.
To help ensure a summer filled with laughter, learning and lasting memories, we have curated a selection of local summer camps that will keep kids engaged and keep parents satisfied with the convenience of having them close to home.
Don't forget - Summer camps offer more than just fun! They provide invaluable experiences that promote personal growth, teamwork, and a lifelong love for learning. Summer camps provide a structured, yet informal setting for children to interact, helping them develop social skills in a natural setting. Exploring shared interests together helps deepen connections, making children feel they are part of a special group where everyone understands and appreciates each other's passions.

Horizon West Theater Company Big Ol’Blue Summer Camp

DETAILS: Get ready kids, it’s time for Summer School (of Fish)! This musical theatre camp will give our younger artists a chance to explore the genre of musical theatre. With a fun combination of training, rehearsal, and performance, students will hone their skills in acting, singing, and dance. The week will culminate with a special performance of "Disney’s Finding Nemo: Kids"This week is perfectly suited for imaginative students who love music and movement. No previous experience required. Space is limited.

Lifebridge Church Navigate for Families

DETAILS: Navigate is a multi-night event designed for families. This mission is to come alongside you in your God-given role, to encourage you and give you insight and practical advice on what it means to be an effective parent. Each evening will begin together as a family with live worship. Then, kids and middle-schoolers will split off into their own exciting camp-themed experiences with crafts, Bible lessons and snacks. Parents will learn from parenting authors Ginger Hubbard and Greg Smalley. The last night will be a party for the family.

The Athlete Maker Summer Workouts

Foundation Academy Elementary Cheer Camp

DETAILS: In this four-day camp, which will run from 8:30 a.m. to noon each day, the three-time defending FHSAA state cheerleading champions and 2023-24 defending national and world champions will aim to teach young athletes age-appropriate cheerleading fundamentals in a Christ-like and encouraging environment. The camp looks to foster and nurture each young athlete’s love for the sport of cheerleading.
