Congratulations To The Class of 2019

Windermere High School Welcomes Its Inaugural Class

As high school careers end for the 2019 graduates of Windermere High School, a crowd of family and friends gathered to celebrate! The first class of Wolverines is a proud one for the 2-year-old high school; the first high school in Horizon West. These 700 seniors are on to great things and ready take their talents and skills out into the world.

A History In The Making...

Windermere High School opened its doors to students in the 2017-2018 school year but opted to wait for a graduating class until its second year of operation so that seniors from other schools would not have to transfer into a new school. The long-awaited relief school welcomed students from neighboring schools and created a culture all its own for the first year of graduates! The Class of 2019 will leave its mark on – not just the school- but the entire community.

Community Of Leadership

Among the ranks, a tribe of leaders emerged to create clubs, head up committees, foster foundations and leave a legacy for future Wolverines to enjoy and evolve. These kids logged thousands of volunteer hours, dedicated themselves to becoming builders of their community and rallied behind their fellow Wolverines at sporting events, through artistic endeavors and most importantly by giving freely of their talents to catalyze a culture of excellence. “Achieve Greatness With Honor” is the school’s motto and that is exactly what the Class of 2019 did.

Who’s Who Of Windermere High

Notable Wolverines include Valedictorian, Griffin Willman, Salutatorian Mackenzie Peck, and SGA President Carter Zavada who was also one of this year’s recipients of the Wolverine Legacy Fund Scholarship! The Wolverine Legacy Fund provides ongoing learning for Academics, Athletics and Arts programs that challenges students to be competitive 21st century leaders and innovators. The Academic Consortium of Scholars awards scholarships to a students who show the greatest efforts toward achievement and success.

A Celebration To Remember!

Proud parents, friends and faculty crowded into the Amway center on May 22nd for a graduation ceremony that was nothing short of spectacular. The students wore caps and gowns in the school’s signature Navy Blue, Lime Green and Silver, standing out against the stage lights as each took their turn crossing from one chapter of their lives into the next. Overlays on each graduate’s gown with the words “Inaugural Class” down the back gave this class something that they can hold onto forever as their place in Horizon West’s history. The Wolverine Chorus sang the school’s Alma Mater while fireworks flashed brightly in the background in celebration of a group of students who made history as the first graduates in our community. Congratulations, Class of 2019! The future belongs to you and we can’t wait to see what you become.
