Horizon West's Greg Zele is YOUR Trial Attorney!

Horizon West Happenings • June 26, 2020

"Professionally, my greatest satisfaction comes from seeing victims become victors. Every day that's what I'm working to achieve." -Greg Zele

Horizon West attorney, Greg Zele, of Zele Huber Trial Attorneys is one-half of the power team making a name for themselves as advocates for clients that feel that their voices are not being heard. With a focus on the legal areas of personal injury and wrongful death, Greg works by your side every step of the way.

His extensive background in the courtroom as a trial lawyer has helped him take on some of the largest insurance companies and corporations in the world. Greg is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by the Florida Bar, and a leader in the legal community. He has been named a Florida Super Lawyer and a member of the Legal Elite for multiple years!

Unlike larger firms where your case may be handled by any number of paralegals, legal assistants or an attorney you may never meet Greg works your case from start to finish personally. We sat down with Greg to learn a bit more about what he does, what his services mean, and what sets him apart.

It is our pleasure to introduce you to this unique member of our community. Let’s see what he has to say!

How Did You Get Your Start in Law?

Well, I started out as a student of Arizona State University, pursuing a degree in Journalism, actually. Like many young people, I was excited to be at college, but I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do when I finished. I’ve always had a knack for communication; connecting with people. I figured journalism was a logical career choice for that skill set along with my natural curiosity and tendency to ask questions.

After graduating, I happened to be watching a court room trial coverage on TV and thought to myself, “This is it. This is exactly what I’m meant to do.” That may sound a little unorthodox, but I felt compelled to use my skills in this way. I went on to achieve my law degree from Stetson University and fell in love with trial law because it pushes me and challenges me to do my best every day. There’s always something new to learn.

What Exactly is Personal Injury and Wrongful Death? Why Should People Know What It Means?

Personal injury is a legal term for an injury to the body, as opposed to an injury to property. Often when people are injured, they are left trying to pick up the pieces on their own without the help of a lawyer. It’s the kind of experience where you really need someone who understands the law and your rights and be on your side to advocate for you.

Wrongful death is a little more complicated and certainly more sensitive for the families involved. It’s a claim against a person or company who can be held liable for a death. The claim is brought in a civil action, usually by close relatives, as enumerated by statute. This is an area where having an attorney who works with you exclusively, as opposed to handing you to any number of people on their team, is pivotal in creating trust and building a relationship. No one ever wants to find themselves in this position, but if you do, you’re going to want someone who understands what you went through and how to get justice for your loved one.

What Sets You Apart from Other Personal Injury Attorneys?

My mission is to be YOUR attorney. Often people mistakenly assume that all attorneys are the same or that working with a larger law firm gives them an advantage. However, nothing could be further from the truth. When you hire those larger firms there could any number of people working on your case, which does not necessarily benefit you because there isn’t one person that knows everything about your case. When you hire me, you get me from start to finish. No one in my firm will know more about your case than I will.

I serve your legal needs by devoting the necessary time and effort on an individual level. If you call me for help, I am the one who helps you. I learn your case and your story backwards and forwards. At every stage of your case, I am pushing for a favorable result. These unique actions give you every advantage and peace of mind during a time when things could potentially be volatile or emotional.

You Mention Often the Amount of Time Given to Your Clients. Is the Amount of Time Given to Your Clients Unusual?

In short, yes. Our motto is “It’s About Time”, and to us that’s so much more than a catch phrase. It’s what we live by and promise to each client. We promise to spend the time with you to prepare your case and your trial if it comes to that. We personally engage in every conversation about your case, be it with you, your witnesses, doctors, insurance companies and so on. That means countless hours of conversations taking your personal experience and our professional experience and combining them into a powerful narrative.

Why Did You Choose to Build Your Practice in Horizon West?

There’s no place like home! That may sound off the cuff, but it’s the true. What I mean by that is, quite simply, there is no place I’d rather build relationships and serve than in my own community. My fiancé and I are active here in our personal lives, participating in our kids’ lives through sports, volunteer programs and enjoying all the things Horizon West has to offer. If I can contribute to that in some way by being a trusted professional who will make your time count when push comes to shove, then I know I am doing my best as a citizen of Horizon West.

We are proud to call Greg Zele a Horizon Wester and we hope that if you find yourself in need of his services, you reach out for help from a true client advocate.
