Delivering Award-Winning Innovation and Compassionate Care Close to Home

As Horizon West continues to grow into one of Central Florida’s most vibrant communities, Orlando Health Horizon West Hospital stands as a beacon of health, innovation and hope. More than just a hospital, it is a thoughtfully designed healthcare destination built to serve the needs of today’s residents and grow along with the community for generations to come.

Poised to evolve alongside the region’s dynamic growth, Orlando Health Horizon West’s mission is clear: to improve the health and quality of life of the individuals and communities it serves.

Committed to expanding specialized health services in the community, the hospital offers a comprehensive range of services, including heart care with full cardio-diagnostic capabilities, digestive health, general surgery, orthopedics and sports medicine, stroke care and more. Patients benefit from diagnostic imaging and laboratory services, as well as state-of-the-art operating suites that support minimally invasive and robotic surgery across multiple specialties such as general, thoracic, orthopedic and gynecologic.

The hospital was recently awarded the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) Go Clear™ Award. This award signifies that Orlando Health Horizon West Hospital’s surgical team has successfully completed AORN’s comprehensive, evidence-based program and implemented advanced technologies to ensure a smoke-free environment wherever surgical smoke is generated. This achievement demonstrates the facility’s proactive approach to protecting the health and well-being of everyone in the operating room and the unwavering dedication to clinical excellence and patient-centered care.

When the unexpected happens, it’s important to know where to go for emergency care. Staffed by board-certified physicians and a highly trained clinical team, the Orlando Health Horizon West Hospital Emergency Room (ER) is open 24/7 for both adults and children. With advanced cardiac monitoring, imaging and trauma-certified nurses, the ER delivers expert care when it matters most – from minor injuries to critical conditions such as stroke and heart attack.

The hospital’s excellence in stroke care has earned it the Primary Stroke Center certification from The Joint Commission, the nation’s oldest and largest accrediting body in healthcare. Patients suffering from a stroke will have access to a highly trained, coordinated team when they enter the emergency room at the hospital. The Joint Commission ensures that Primary Stroke Center hospitals follow consistent guidelines for stroke care, which can lead to better outcomes.

Orlando Health Horizon West Hospital is also proud that its joint replacement program has earned a Gold Seal of Approval from The Joint Commission, recognizing its commitment to safe, high-quality hip and knee replacement procedures. The program covers all phases of care, ranging from preadmission testing and surgery education to outpatient services like physical therapy. With a streamlined process centered around patient well-being, the goal is to allow patients to begin recovering at home within 24 hours, if it is safe to do so. Due to the rigorous program safety guidelines that have already been implemented, Orlando Health Horizon West Hospital has reported shorter hospital stays for patients, fewer readmissions and zero surgical site infections for joint replacements.

Our commitment to patient-care quality and safety has earned the hospital repeated “A” grades for hospital safety from The Leapfrog Group, a national advocate for patient safety, quality and transparency. The hospital also achieved the American Heart Association Get With The Guidelines® - Resuscitation Silver Award that underscores the team’s commitment in treating in-hospital cardiac arrests. During these emergencies, timely medical team response and effective CPR are crucial in saving lives. Continuing to raise the bar, Orlando Health Horizon West Hospital was recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a high performing hospital in seven adult procedures, including COPD, Diabetes, Heart Attack, Heart Arrhythmia, Heart Failure, Kidney Failure and Pneumonia.

Our hospital seamlessly pairs with the adjacent Orlando Health Medical Pavilion – Horizon West, which includes a wide array of primary and specialty care practices, outpatient diagnostics and rehabilitation. With these multiple points of healthcare access, you can see your care providers, get imaging, laboratory or diagnostic tests, and receive the latest treatments all on one campus.

As Horizon West continues to grow, Orlando Health Horizon West Hospital remains committed to being a trusted partner in health. By investing in cutting-edge technology, expanding services and fostering a culture of compassion and excellence, the hospital is not only meeting the current healthcare needs of your community — it’s building a healthier future for you, your family and generations to come.
