Popular Florida-founded Brand is Bringing a Modern Aussie-inspired Atmosphere, Local Hiring and Classic Favorites to Horizon West’s Town Center

A familiar favorite is about to get a brand-new address in the heart of Horizon West. Outback Steakhouse is set to open Tuesday, March 3 in the Town Center area of Hamlin, bringing a modern Aussie-inspired flair to one of the community’s busiest corners.

The new restaurant is a 4,694-square-foot build on 2.5 acres, located directly northeast of State Road 429’s interchange with New Independence Parkway. You’ll find it at 16323 New Independence Parkway, near Walmart.

Inside, guests can expect an atmosphere that feels vibrant, fun and inviting, reflecting the spirited Outback vibe while leaning into an updated design. Whether you’re meeting up for a casual night out or gathering the family for a celebration meal, the new location aims to make it easier than ever for locals to enjoy longtime favorites close to home, including the tender, juicy Bone-In Ribeye, mouthwatering Victoria’s® Barrel-Cut Filet Mignon, classic Chocolate Thunder From Down Under® and the signature Bloomin’ Onion®.

Local Roots and Giving Back

Proprietor Brittany Brett shared that hiring is complete and the team is now focused on preparations for opening day. Many staff members are local Horizon Westers, including several high school students from Horizon High School.

Brittany, a longtime central Florida resident, said she’s proud to open in the beautiful Hamlin area and noted how much Horizon West has grown recently, along with how thoughtfully the community has been planned.

Outback is part of Bloomin' Brands, Inc., which also includes Bonefish Grill, Carrabba's Italian Grill and Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar. The brand originated in Florida, opening its first location in Tampa in March 1988.

Before the grand opening, the new location will host VIP nights for local leaders and stakeholders. Bar proceeds from two upcoming events will benefit Hamlin Middle School and Independence Elementary School as an early show of community support.

Hours, Services and Holiday Plans

Hours: Monday–Thursday, 3–10 p.m.; Friday–Saturday, 11 a.m.–11 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m.–10 p.m.

Services listed on the location's website include: Dine-In, online ordering, curbside takeaway, delivery, WiFi, gift cards

Following the grand opening, the team is especially looking forward to welcoming the community for upcoming moments to celebrate together, including Easter, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.

Whether you’re ordering take away online or sharing a meal with your mates in the unique atmosphere, Outback classics will be closer than ever starting March 3rd!
