New Restaurants and Flavors Coming Soon to Horizon West
Dirty Soda, Florida Seafood, Sushi, Coffee and More — Here’s a Taste of What’s on the Way!

Discovering a new spot for a meal or even a quick errand bevvie always feels like a win. What’s even better than that? Getting the scoop before everyone else. Horizon West just keeps growing and a slew of new and familiar concepts have announced they’re coming to town. Some of these future hotspots are currently patches of grass, but here’s the lowdown on the buzz brands coming soon… or soon-ish.
Just remember, openings are never official until the lights are on and the first customers walk in, so think of this as a list of possibilities or probabilities, not promises.
Tiki Docks Bar & Grill
This Florida-based casual dining brand has four locations in the Sunshine State, and soon, a fifth in Hamlin Town Center near Popstroke. Florida flavors on the menu include fresh oysters, chargrilled wings, grouper tacos, burgers, fried seafood baskets, boat drinks and more. Marc Brown, president of 23 Restaurant Services, tells us there will also be a speakeasy inside the larger restaurant, themed to Don the Beachcomber, the original tiki bar created in 1930s Hollywood.

Dutch Bros Coffee
This coffee shop chain started in Oregon but has recently expanded into the Southeast with locations from Jacksonville to Tampa. Ours will sit on Hamlin Groves Trail between Taco Bell and AutoZone. Dutch Bros generally skips seating to focus on drive-up and walk-up. In addition to classic coffee drinks, Dutch Bros has matcha, sparkling sodas, smoothies, lemonade, iced tea, blended freezes and its own branded energy drink. Known for charity events, Dutch Bros Coffee holds “Dutch Luv” for two weeks or so each winter, donating $1 from selected drinks to local food banks.

Swig
Known as 'Home of the Original Dirty Soda,' Swig specializes in barista-style beverages based around soft drinks and fruit juices. First popular in Utah because The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints generally prohibits coffee and tea, the dirty soda trend has spread across the country. For example, “Life’s a Peach” is made with Dr Pepper, vanilla syrup, peach syrup and half-and-half. (Yes, some drinks include caffeine.) The Hamlin Town Center Swig location will be in front of Urban Air. Swig is also known for pink-frosted sugar cookies and pretzel bites.

Sushi Kindai
The Shoppes at Lakeview Pointe are currently under construction at Seidel Road and Murcott Blossom Boulevard and a new sushi spot hopes to be ready to open at the plaza by spring 2026. “Kindai” translates as “modern” or “contemporary,” and Sushi Kindai owner James Gao says the menu will be a fusion-style Japanese cuisine with sushi, sashimi, maki rolls, appetizers and hibachi bento boxes. Sushi Kindai will also have a full bar with sake, soju, beer, wine and cocktails.
Other businesses committed to The Shoppes at Lakeview Pointe include a Marco’s Pizza, a dentist, and a child development center. A coffee shop, a market and café, nail salon, and dry cleaner are close to finalizing leases.
Filigree Coffee
First opening inside Home State Brewing Co. at Hamlin Town Center in late 2022, Filigree Coffee is expanding into its own storefront right next door, a spot last occupied by Chick N Cone. Filigree is not just a coffee shop, but also selects and roasts its own coffee beans. While still open inside the brewery, they hope to finish the move one door over before the holidays. If you drive by today, it’s easy to spot the new location. The windows are covered with art by Jay Howell, co-creator of Nickelodeon’s “Sanjay & Craig” and original character designer for Fox’s “Bob’s Burgers.”

More Brands on the Horizon
More recognizable brands are also planning to bring new locations to Horizon West. Tropical Smoothie Café, Wawa and ABC Fine Wine and Spirits are all scheduled for Hamlin Town Center.
Chipotle has recently opened locations in Flamingo Crossings and Lakeside Village at the Westside Shoppes plaza, taking over for the now-closed Tijuana Flats.
Also in Flamingo Crossings, Sonic Drive-In is listed with a “future location” after first filing permits in 2023.
